From childhood...

Growing up in a quaint village in Punjab, I was fortunate to have a childhood filled with wholesome, nutritious food, thanks to my parents’ dedication to our well-being. My father, in particular, took it upon himself to ensure we ate healthily. From making soups for me and my siblings to placing a plate of fresh salad by our side during study sessions, he was always at the forefront of our nutrition.

His efforts didn’t stop there—every morning before leaving for school, he would place a banana and an apple by my table, lovingly reminding me to eat them. He often joked that if he didn’t put them there, I’d forget to eat them altogether.

The Shift: Moving Away from Home

Everything changed when I left my village for higher studies and stayed in a hostel in Ludhiana. The food quality was average, with little variety, and my eating habits took a hit. Breakfast often meant repetitive paranthas, and junk food like pizzas and canteen snacks became a regular part of my diet.

After college, I dived into preparing for government exams. My focus on studies became so intense that I neglected my health entirely. Long hours of sitting and poor dietary choices left me physically and mentally drained. I gained weight, experienced irregular periods, and felt completely disconnected from my family, surroundings, and nature. Stress levels skyrocketed, and I knew I needed to make a change.

A Turning Point: Rediscovering Health

One day, while scrolling through YouTube, I stumbled upon a video titled “Intermittent Fasting—Is It for You?” by the Satvik Movement channel. The concept intrigued me, and I decided to give it a try. This marked the beginning of my journey toward reclaiming my health and well-being.

As I delved deeper into health content on YouTube, I discovered another channel, Fit Tuber by Vivek Mittal. His videos inspired me to adopt healthier habits, prioritize fitness, and embrace mindfulness in everyday life. 

These two channels played a pivotal role in helping me transform my physical and mental health, and I continue to follow them for insights into healthy living.

The Plant-based Journey

One day, my sister shared a video that revealed the harsh realities of the dairy industry—forced impregnation, calves separated from their mothers, inadequate feeding, and eventual slaughter. I couldn’t bring myself to watch the entire video because it was so painful, but it left an indelible mark on me.

That moment sparked a gradual but determined shift toward a plant-based lifestyle. I began experimenting with alternatives like coconut milk, peanut butter, and soy curd. Over time, I discovered the joy of creating nutritious, plant-based recipes that didn’t compromise on taste.

Now, I love sharing these recipes—each one hand-tested, healthy, and full of flavor. Through this website, I hope to inspire others to explore plant-based living and discover the benefits of eating nutritious, wholesome food.
